It is my great pleasure to introduce, Don Whipple. The newest member of "The Blane Project." Don landed on the beach in Iwo Jima as part of the second wave. After the war Don continued to serve others. This time as a missionary in the same area of the world he fought in, the south pacific.
Don, is probably the most genuinely happy person you will ever meet. I think his portrait makes that fairly obvious. My approach to all of the portraits for the project, is to be very honest. That is, I never pose any of the subjects. I simply ask them to look into the camera. Their personalities take over at that point.
